Hungary11:45 Hello everyone and welcome to AUTOSPORT Live for coverage of round 11 in this year's FIA Formula 1 world championship - the Hungarian Grand Prix.

This is the last event before the sport takes its annual month-long summer break. Lewis Hamilton has started his weekend off perfectly, taking the fastest time in two out of the three practice sessions and then backing it up with a sensational lap of 1m20.953s to claim McLaren's 150th pole position, ahead of Romain Grosjean and Sebastian Vettel.

Jenson Button starts today's 70-lap race from fourth on the grid, while Kimi Raikkonen is fifth and championship leader Fernando Alonso will aim to protect a healthy points lead going into the holidays from the outside of row three.

11:46 The crowd rises for the Hungarian national anthem.

11:47 Here's how the standings look at the half way stage of 2012:

11:48 Romain Grosjean takes a break from the intense heat before heading to his Lotus on the front row of the grid.

11:49 Conditions have ranged from sublime to ridiculous already today. It all started with the latter shortly after 04:00, with spectacular storms giving Formula 1 an early alarm call.

The rain ended at around 08:00 and since then the circuit has dried out - although the race will start on a 'green' track. Blazing sunshine and rising temperatures since the GP3 race and this will continue for at least the next hour.

There remains a slight chance of rain towards the late stages of the race, but the most likely scenario is a fully dry event from here, with air temperature topping out at 32 Celsius and track surface temperature up to 50 degrees.

11:50 Championship leader Alonso lines up sixth on the grid today but has built his points advantage on strong raceday performances.

11:51 Vettel in third and Button fourth will both be looking to make a dent in Alonso's points margin heading into the summer break.

11:52 Alonso doesn't look too worried about that as he is greeted by Bernie Ecclestone on the grid.

Tyres11:53 Tyre degredation is typically high around this twisting circuit, meaning strategists have a tough afternoon ahead plotting the best way to complete this event on another warm day.

Soft tyres were the way to go for a single lap in qualifying, meaning they are the starting choice for the top 10, but the yellow-striped Pirelli is not particularly durable here, so the first stint could be quite short.

The medium compound rubber once again looks like an excellent race tyre, giving both speed and longevity, so is likely the favoured compound for the majority of the distance.

Once again the closing stages are set to be a battle over who has the best remaining grip, with plenty scope for a third stop to make late progress up the order.

11:53 Hamilton climbs aboard his pole-sitting McLaren and needs to convert his peerless qualifying speed into a good result this afternoon.

11:54 One DRS zone here, detected through the final complex of corners before allowing the chasing driver's wing to open on the run down to Turn 1

11:55 Just five minutes remaining until the formation lap begins at the Hungaroring.

11:57 Tyres being bolted on the cars now, with the top 10 drivers locked into the use of softs from the final qualifying segment.

11:57 A large crowd is packed into the natural bowl, with track temperature up to a very warm 46 Celsius.

11:58 Vettel is leaving his gloves off, so he can keep his hands cool until the last possible moment.

11:58 Drivers further back could try to complete the first stint on the medium compound, with the car using major rubber life when full of fuel.

11:59 Cooling fans are working overtime down there on the grid, to keep the machinery and drivers as refreshed as possible until the engines are started.

11:59 Initial indications are that Webber is gambling on medium compound rubber from 11th on the grid.

11:59 The engines fire with a minute to the formation lap.

11:59 Pic, Glock and de la Rosa are also on the medium compound from the rear of the field.

12:00 The formation lap begins and Hamilton leads the field of 24 away from the grid.

12:00 Webber's car is definitely on medium compound tyres as the cars pull away.

12:00 Hamilton leaves his position quickly and all 24 leave the grid without problem.

12:01 Up the hill and round to the chicane at Turns 6 and 7, Hamilton takes them round and is aiming to warm up his soft tyres.

12:02 Hamilton's starts have been variable this year and he must surely be concerned by Grosjean's propensity for a first-lap tangle.

12:02 Round Turn 13 and into the final corner now as the mechanics run back to their pit garages.

12:02 The dirty side of the grid is often a challenge here, with things incredibly dusty off the racing line.

12:02 Hamilton aims his car towards pole position and guides the MP4-27 into his slot. The front few rows are now in position.

12:03 The grid is ready and we are ready for 70 racing laps this afternoon. We await the lights...

12:03 The start has been aborted. The cars will now begin another formation lap.

12:03 Delayed start - new formation lap.

12:04 Michael Schumacher has caused the delay and he sits motionless as the rest of the pack moves away for a second tour.

12:04 Marshals quickly push Schumacher away towards the pitlane gap.

12:05 This additional formation tour will reduce the race distance to 69 laps.

12:05 Meantime, Hamilton is back round and heading to Turn 11, as Mercedes mechanics now attend to Schumacher's car.

12:05 Schumacher is underway and rolls towards the end of the pitlane, ready to get away when the field have taken the lights.

12:06 Hamilton comes back to pole position and is ready to rock for a second time. The field is forming up nicely. Let's try again...

Lap 1: The five red lights go out and we are racing in Hungary!

Lap 1: Hamilton gets a good start and leads while Vettel attacks Grosjean round the outside into Turn 1, but the Frenchman holds on.

Lap 1: Around the back of the circuit for the first time it is Hamilton from Grosjean, Button and Vettel.

Lap 1: Webber is up from 11th to seventh on the medium compound tyres and we're not even done with the first lap.

Lap 2: Vettel was challenging Grosjean in the opening corners but was punished by Button making a forceful move on the Red Bull at Turn 3.

Lap 2: Hamilton leads by a 1.4 second margin over Grosjean.

Lap 2: Raikkonen is sixth in his Lotus and reporting KERS problems.

Lap 2: Schumacher started from the pitlane, but is into the pits at the end of the first lap. He takes on medium tyres and rejoins miles behind.

Lap 3: Webber is all the way up to seventh on his medium compound tyres after a brilliant start from 11th on the grid.

Lap 3: Behind the leading runners, Senna is eighth with Massa ninth, Hulkenberg 10th, Rosberg 11th and Maldonado in 12th.

Lap 3: Hamilton streaks off into a 2.1 seconds lead, with Grosjean chased by Button, Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen and Webber.

Lap 4: Then comes Perez in 13th, di Resta 14th, Ricciardo 15th, Vergne 16th, Kovalainen 17th, Petrov 18th, Kobayashi 19th, Pic 20th and Glock 21st.

Lap 4: DRS is now enabled, setting things up nicely for a battle between that leading pack.

Lap 4: De la Rosa is 22nd, just ahead of team-mate Karthikeyan. Schumacher is last - 17 seconds behind the HRT pair.

Lap 4: Hamilton continues to stretch an advantage with the fastest lap, now clocked 2.3 seconds clear of Grosjean.

Lap 4: It goes from bad to worse for Schumacher. He has been handed a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane.

Lap 5: Replays of the start show a great launch for Hamilton, although he did brake a touch late for the first corner but the action was behind.

Lap 5: Glock has made a big mistake, allowing the HRT pair to get past him. Glock is now 23rd.

Lap 5: Vettel was quick away and locked in that battle with Grosjean, before being taken by Button after the pair squabbled.

Lap 5: Senna in eighth is holding onto the medium shod Webber easily in the opening stages. Massa is right with them in ninth, then a small gap developing to Hulkenberg.

Lap 6: Grosjean responds to Hamilton's pace with his own fastest lap, with the Lotus pulling slightly clear of third place man Button.

Lap 6: Schumacher comes in and serves his drive-through penalty. He rejoins the race.

Lap 6: Vettel is all over the rear of Button's McLaren but not making an impression on DRS for the moment.

Lap 7: Alonso has dropped 2.5 seconds behind Vettel in fifth, chased by Raikkonen, Webber, Senna and Massa.

Lap 7: Alonso is lapping around half a second slower than the leaders at the moment but may just be conserving his rubber.

Lap 8: Senna drops to one second behind eighth-placed Webber, with Felipe Massa now beginning to mount an attack on his fellow-Brazilian.

Lap 8: Webber is indeed told that Alonso may be saving his tyres, with the Australian looking set to go deep into the first stint on his mediums.

Lap 9: Little in it between Hamilton and Grosjean for the moment, both lapping in the late 1m27s bracket now.

Lap 9: Hulkenberg continues in 10th but he is falling away slightly from the developing Senna versus Massa battle and Rosberg is closing up to him.

Lap 9: Down the field, Kobayashi in 19th is climbing over the back of Vitaly Petrov's Caterham.

Lap 9: Button is told he is easing away from Vettel, with the third-placed McLaren now 2.8 seconds clear of the Red Bull.

Lap 10: Having been stuck behind Petrov, the Japanese drivers pits to get some fresh tyres and more importantly - clean air.

Lap 10: Raikkonen continues to harry Alonso in a battle over fifth but isn't showing any signs of making a move for the moment.

Lap 10: Hamilton responds to pressure from Grosjean, setting almost identical laptimes to cement the gap at 2.1 seconds.

Lap 10: Schumacher remains in 24th after his problems in the first few laps. He is now 7.0s behind Glock.

Lap 11: This first stint is expected to be fairly short, with the soft tyres taking a lot of punishment on heavy fuel loads.

Lap 11: Kobayashi rejoined after his stop just ahead of Glock, in 22nd.

Lap 11: Hamilton sets the fastest lap at 1m27.705s, now leading by 2.3s over Grosjean.

Lap 11: The Sauber driver is immediately on the move, passing Karthikeyan to take 21st. De la Rosa is just 2.4s ahead and next on the target list.

Lap 12: Button is now 3.7 seconds behind Grosjean in third, a further 1.5 seconds clear of Vettel's Red Bull.

Lap 12: Schumacher posts his fastest lap of the race so far, to close the gap behind Glock to 4.4 seconds.

Lap 12: Alonso is now 11.6 seconds behind the leader in fifth, with Raikkonen still on his gearbox.

Lap 12: Kobayashi continues his progress and moves easily past de la Rosa for 20th on the start-finish straight.

Lap 13: Hamilton is told the team would like to stretch the first stint a bit longer given the proximity of Grosjean.

Lap 13: Senna continues in eighth position and is doing his best to hang on to Webber's shirt-tails. The gap between them is 1.6s.

Lap 13: Hamilton has been stretching the lead on the last couple of tours, now 2.7 seconds clear.

Lap 13: Vergne pits from 17th position in the Toro Rosso.

Lap 13: Button's pace isn't so good now - a poor 1m29s effort puts his 8.1 behind team-mate Hamilton and Vettel on his case.

Lap 14: Vergne rejoins further down the order in 20th spot, promoting Kobayashi - track position gained for the Japanese driver.

Lap 14: Grosjean takes over the fastest lap, drawing in Hamilton's advantage to 2.4 seconds.

Lap 15: The field continues to spread, with McLaren strategists looking for a window to feed out Hamilton after the first stop.

Lap 15: Schumacher has passed Glock to take over 23rd - then up to 22nd past Karthikeyan less than one lap later.

Lap 16: Ricciardo has pitted the other Toro Rosso from 15th. He was ahead of Vergne before the stops so will be aiming to keep track position over his team-mate.

Lap 16: Button has been off the road at Turn 4 with an oversteer moment but remains ahead of Vettel.

Lap 16: Button pits his McLaren.

Lap 16: A quick change of tyres for Button and he's away on the medium compound.

Lap 16: Hulkenberg pits from 10th and Maldonado from 14th this time round.

Lap 17: Ricciardo rejoined from his stop ahead of Kobayashi and Vergne, in 18th position.

Lap 17: Hamilton's lead is now two seconds from Grosjean as the teams ponder when to make a stop.

Lap 17: Senna and Rosberg come into the pits.

Lap 17: Both drivers take on medium compound tyres. Senna is slightly delayed as di Resta comes in for his first stop.

Lap 18: Pitstops for the drivers ahead of Button put him in clear air on his fresh tyres.

Lap 18: Kobayashi has passed Pic on-track to take over 18th position.

Lap 18: Button will be hoping to leap Vettel if he can find good pace on this outlap.

Lap 18: Vettel responds with a pitstop.

Lap 18: Schumacher has also passed Pedro de la Rosa. That moves him up to 21st.

Lap 18: Soft tyres go on Vettel's car, with Alonso also in for a stop. He takes medium rubber.

Lap 18: Button surges through and is still ahead of Vettel.

Lap 18: Vergne passes Pic, who is falling away badly now with his tyres. The Toro Rosso driver is up to 19th.

Lap 19: Raikkonen, unleashed by the Alonso stop, sets the fastest first sector.

Lap 19: Kovalainen had moved up to 13th place in the pitstop phase, but the Finn comes in for his own change of tyres.

Lap 19: Leader Hamilton is in for his first stop.

Lap 19: Medium compound for Hamilton and he's back underway after a short delay.

Lap 19: That could be costly for Hamilton, with the reason for his slow getaway unclear at the moment.

Lap 19: Massa is the next to head in for a stop.

Lap 20: Petrov pits from 16th in the Caterham.

Lap 20: Grosjean leads for the moment but will likely pit this time.

Lap 20: Grosjean is in for his first stop.

Lap 20: Soft tyres for Grosjean and he's not too quick out of the box either.

Lap 20: At the rear of the field, Karthikeyan and Glock pit together, almost getting in the way of Grosjean's entry to the lane.

Lap 20: Hamilton drives past and back ahead of Grosjean on the road.

Lap 20: Raikkonen now leads from Webber, with Hamilton currently third and Grosjean fourth.

Lap 20: Only Raikkonen, Webber, Perez, Pic and de la Rosa are yet to come in for a stop.

Lap 21: Button and Vettel follow behind, as Alonso slips past the yet-to-pit Perez.

Lap 21: Raikkonen and Webber both dive in.

Lap 21: Soft tyres for Raikkonen, while Webber opts for medium compound.

Lap 21: Raikkonen resumes ahead of Alonso, with Webber dropping in behind the Ferrari.

Lap 21: Vettel is looking very racy on his soft tyres and is all over the gearbox of Button in a battle for third.

Lap 22: So Alonso is up to seventh, with Perez eighth, Senna ninth and still ahead of Massa. Then Rosberg in 11th - he gained track position over Hulkenberg.

Lap 22: Up front, Hamilton leads again, now on medium rubber, by 2.6 seconds from the soft-shod Grosjean.

Lap 22: Pic has been in for his first stop of the afternoon. He rejoins outside the top 20.

Lap 22: Button is a further 5.3 seconds behind in third, on mediums, with Vettel all over the McLaren thanks to his soft tyres.

Lap 22: Perez finally makes it into the pits and takes on medium compound tyres. He rejoins in 15th.

Lap 23: The only driver in the race who is yet to come in is Pedro de la Rosa. He is 22nd.

Lap 23: Raikkonen, fifth, is on softs and looking to close down on Vettel, followed by Alonso and Webber.

Lap 23: Grosjean's pace is strong at the moment but McLaren reckon his soft tyres could run out of grip before Hamilton's harder rubber.

Lap 23: So after all that, Senna resumed in eighth with Massa ninth, Rosberg 10th, Hulkenberg 11th, Maldonado 12th and di Resta in 13th.

Lap 24: Ricciardo is 14th ahead of Perez 15th, Kobayashi 16th, Vergne 17th, Kovalainen 18th, Schumacher up to 19th and Petrov 20th.

Lap 24: Grosjean sets the fastest lap at 1m26.353s and is now clocked just 1.3 seconds behind Hamilton.

Lap 24: De la Rosa pits the HRT and rejoins - just in time to get in Alonso and Webber's way.

Lap 25: Hamilton now has Grosjean in his mirrors and begins to respond to the Lotus pace.

Lap 25: Grosjean is now just 0.9 seconds behind Hamilton as he enjoys the grip from his soft tyres.

Lap 26: McLaren strategists should be concerned by this speed from Grosjean but the Lotus man really needs to take the lead to build an advantage.

Lap 26: Down the field there are two developing scraps. Di Resta in 13th is homing in on Maldonado, while at the back Glock is about to challenge Karthikeyan.

Lap 26: Button, also on medium rubber, continues to take major pressure from Vettel on softs.

Lap 27: Overtaking is proving difficult though, with the DRS zone not proving particularly useful so far.

Lap 27: Has Grosjean cooked his softs already? He fades to 2.4 seconds off leader Hamilton after a pair of poor laps.

Lap 28: Senna posts his best lap of the race so far. He continues in eighth spot and is just 2.2s behind the Alonso versus Webber fight.

Lap 28: Lots of debris building off-line on the front straight, with the tyres depositing a huge amount of rubber as they wear here.

Lap 29: Massa is more than six seconds behind Senna. He is ninth with Rosberg 10th, Hulkenberg 11th, Maldonado 12th and di Resta is now 1.3s back from the Venezuelan in 13th.

Lap 29: Ricciardo is 14th in the Toro Rosso, but Perez is liking the feel of his tyres and is on the Australian's tail.

Lap 29: Button continues to hold off Vettel, while Grosjean is edging back towards Hamilton again.

Lap 30: Track position is still everything here, with the typical Monaco-like difficulty of overtaking seeming to continue.

Lap 31: Grosjean is now clocked 1.2 seconds behind Hamilton.

Lap 31: Vettel tells Red Bull that he "can go much faster" than Button, urging the team to "do something" on strategy.

Lap 32: Hamilton now has Grosjean now right on his tail as the pair move towards lapped traffic.

Lap 32: Vergne pits from 17th position for his second stop.

Lap 32: Vergne rejoins in 20th place, behind Schumacher and Petrov.

Lap 32: Vettel's calls for a change of strategy get ever-more insistant, but the team is busy plotting where he would feed out after another stop.

Lap 32: An move to three-stop from Grosjean or Vettel would force McLaren into a change of strategy as well...

Lap 33: At the back, Glock is still on the tail pipe of Karthikeyan's HRT, as they occasionally move out of the way of quicker cars coming through to lap them.

Lap 33: Something Button is told with McLaren suggesting the need to move to "plan B"

Lap 33: Grosjean continues to tail Hamilton but has been off the circuit a couple of times in recent laps.

Lap 34: Lotus could stop fairly soon on a three-stop plan, which would put McLaren into a bit of a bind as Hamilton plans to run long on his mediums

Lap 34: Senna in eighth is gradually continuing to lose ground behind Webber, but it is only one or two-tenths per lap. The gap is 3.3s.

Lap 34: Button continues to hold off Vettel as the pair work through the lapped traffic.

Lap 34: Schumacher pits from 18th place and rejoins back behind Vergne. He is down to 20th and failing to recover after a dismal start to the race.

Lap 35: Webber is told he is basically racing with Alonso and Senna.

Lap 35: Button pre-empts any Vettel move to three stops with his own pitstop to go to softs.

Lap 35: Button resumes behind Senna, which could prove a problem.

Lap 35: The battle for 14th is another that continues unabated. Ricciardo is holding off Perez, but now it changes as the Australian pits.

Lap 35: Hamilton is now being told of the need to switch to "plan B" - seemingly a three-stop.

Lap 36: Perez moves through into 14th and Kobayashi inherits 15th as Ricciardo drops down the order.

Lap 36: Vettel, now released, sets the fastest lap - with Button boxed up behind Senna and not making progress.

Lap 36: Senna is seventh, with Button right behind in eighth and this is surely going to cost him track position to Vettel if he doesn't get past.

Lap 36: Replays coming through of Perez running wide slightly at Turn 11. This happened before Ricciardo's stop. He continued without problem.

Lap 37: Petrov pits this time round from 19th position.

Lap 37: This could be a strategic blunder from McLaren, who could have waited a bit longer to see what Vettel was going to do.

Lap 37: Schumacher regains 19th as the Russian blasts out of the pits.

Lap 37: Raikkonen now sets the fastest lap at 1m26.365s. He is now 3.2 seconds behind Vettel.

Lap 37: Button is looking for a move on Senna but this is very costly for the McLaren man.

Lap 38: Kovalainen comes in for his second stop from 17th place.

Lap 38: Raikkonen is now eying getting past the delayed Button as well, rapidly drawing up on the rear of Vettel.

Lap 39: Vettel is next in the pits, taking medium compound.

Lap 39: Vettel resumes and he's clear of Senna and Button on the road.

Lap 39: Petrov and Pic are fighting on track for 20th and cause concern as the Senna versus Button battle comes into Turn 1.

Lap 40: Ending up boxed behind Senna proved a terrible blunder from McLaren.

Lap 40: Grosjean makes his next stop from second place, fitting medium compound rubber.

Lap 40: A roll of the dice from Louts, but that looks like a two stop plan.

Lap 40: Di Resta has been into the pits as the race gets busy. Hulkenberg is in one lap later.

Lap 40: Grosjean will need to push on now, while Hamilton will surely react with a stop.

Lap 40: Webber has also been in for a set of soft tyres.

Lap 40: Hamilton sets his personal best middle sector as he dives into the pits.

Lap 41: Di Resta is flying on his new tyres. He rejoined in 13th but has just posted the fastest sector times of all in the middle and last portions of the racetrack.

Lap 41: Hamilton is down and away on medium rubber and resumes well clear of Grosjean after a quick stop.

Lap 41: Pic pits for his second stop from 21st place.

Lap 41: A great pitstop sequence for Hamilton and McLaren there as he retains track position over Grosjean.

Lap 41: Rosberg is in next from 10th place. He rejoins and will charge to make sure he can at least get a few points this afternoon.

Lap 42: Kobayashi is another to stop. He was 16th.

Lap 42: Hamilton and Grosjean are now on medium rubber and have clearly backed out of a change to three stops.

Lap 42: Karthikeyan is in and that hands 23rd to Glock for the time being.

Lap 42: Lotus could have forced McLaren into three stops by an earlier switch for Grosjean, but seem to have opted for a more conservative approach.

Lap 42: Maldonado pits from 10th, handing that place back to Rosberg.

Lap 42: Meanwhile, Raikkonen leads ahead of his final stop and is setting rapid times despite used rubber.

Lap 43: Ricciardo in 15th posts his best lap of the race so far. In doing so, he edges away from team-mate Vergne.

Lap 43: Raikkonen eases out to a 14.1 second lead over Hamilton as the McLaren man is told of the intention to run to the end.

Lap 43: Glock pits and the fight for last will shake out in just a moment.

Lap 43: Senna is in for a stop, finally releasing Button.

Lap 43: Hamilton is being forced to push here by Raikkonen's pace at the end of the Finn's soft tyre stint.

Lap 44: Massa moves up to seventh, but he is yet to come in for his second stop. Webber is closing quickly in ninth.

Lap 44: Alonso is the next man in for a change of tyres.

Lap 44: De la Rosa pits from 22nd position.

Lap 44: Massa follows his team-mate down the pitlane.

Lap 44: Alonso has resumed on medium compound, clear of Senna on the road.

Lap 45: Hamilton has paused Raikkonen's spurt at a gap of 14 seconds but the Lotus is now putting Grosjean and Vettel under danger for a nett second

Lap 45: Marussia can claim a small victory over HRT, as Glock emerges from his stop some 12 seconds in front of Karthikeyan.

Lap 45: Raikkonen is told he "really needs to push" ahead of an imminet final stop.

Lap 45: Glock has also jumped de la Rosa in the pitstop phase and moves into 22nd spot.

Lap 45: Raikkonen is in for his final change of tyres.

Lap 45: Raikkonen will resume behind Hamilton but it is close with his team-mate...

Lap 46: Button is also in for another stop.

Lap 46: So Senna is back into eighth and continues to hover around two seconds back from Alonso. Massa maintained ninth and Rosberg holds 10th.

Lap 46: Side-by-side from the Lotus pair and Raikkonen barges past!

Lap 46: Perez is 11th but he is yet to stop for a second time. Hulkenberg is up next, then team-mate di Resta in 13th.

Lap 46: That puts Raikkonen ahead of Grosjean and Vettel on the road after putting the manners on his younger team-mate.

Lap 47: Replays of Button's stop show a bit of a fumble on the left front, with his costly move to a three stopper continuing to go awry.

Lap 47: Force India did a good job for di Resta, getting him track position over Maldonado, who is down to 14th. Ricciardo is 15th with Vergne 16th.

Lap 47: Hamilton is clocked 4.4 seconds clear of Raikkonen, Grosjean and Vettel.

Lap 47: Hamilton will have to go further than Raikkonen on this final set of tyres, meaning the Lotus could put the pressure on at the end.

Lap 48: Kobayashi is 17th and Schumacher is unable to make any inroads into the Japanese driver whatsoever. Kovalainen is 19th with Petrov 20th.

Lap 48: Webber is now fifth in his Red Bull but on soft tyres, which may run out of grip by the end.

Lap 48: Vergne pits one more time from 16th position. A three stop strategy here and the Toro Rosso driver may lose out.

Lap 48: Hamilton's lead is cut to 3.5 seconds by Raikkonen's continuing progress.

Lap 48: Perez comes in for his second stop from 14th place.

Lap 49: Button is down to seventh and right behind Alonso after the change of strategy for McLaren dropped him down from third.

Lap 49: Maldonado plays bumper cars with di Resta at Turn 12. He nerfs the Scot out of the way, barging through into 12th.

Lap 49: Hamilton is warned of Raikkonen catching towards the finish and the Finn is making significant inroads into the lead McLaren.

Lap 49: Both cars continued and di Resta appears to have suffered no damage in that contact. He is still able to lap at a reasonable pace and is 1.5s behind the Williams driver.

Lap 50: Hamilton has some understeer in his McLaren, with Raikkonen now clocked 2.6 seconds behind.

Lap 50: Ricciardo has also been into the pits for a third stop this afternoon. He rejoins in 16th, 12 seconds clear of team-mate Vergne.

Lap 50: Overtaking is proving extremely difficult today, but Hamilton's tyres could fade significantly in the closing laps.

Lap 51: Raikkonen continues to draw closer to Hamilton, now clocked just 1.3 off the lead.

Lap 53: Schumacher posts his best lap of the race so far - 1m27.604s. He is still down in 18th place, but is now 7.1s behind Vergne.
